§ II · What is covered

Six broad categories, four honest exclusions.

Travel insurance is mostly defined by its exclusions. We list those plainly — most disputes happen because nobody read this list before the trip.

What we cover
  • 01

    Medical & dental

Hospital admission, emergency dental, follow-up out-patient visits, and prescription medication arising from a new illness or injury on the trip.

  • 02

    Evacuation & repatriation

Air ambulance, attendant-doctor escort, and (in the unhappy case) repatriation of remains. Coordinated by a global assistance partner.

  • 03

    Trip delay & cancellation

Confirmed-cause delay of six hours or more triggers daily allowance; documented illness or compliance refusal triggers cancellation cover up to the booked amount.

  • 04

    Baggage & belongings

Checked-in baggage loss by the airline, common-carrier damage, and (on Tour and Expedition plans) personal-item theft outside the airport.

  • 05

    Loss of passport

Emergency travel-document fees at the Indian consulate, plus reasonable local transport costs to reach the consulate.

  • 06

    Personal liability

Third-party injury or property damage you cause abroad — within reason, with sensible exclusions for alcohol and vehicle-related events.

What we don’t cover
  • Exclusion · 01

    Pre-existing conditions

Anything diagnosed or treated in the 24 months before the policy starts, unless declared and individually priced.

  • Exclusion · 02

    Adventure sports above 4,500 m

Skiing, scuba below 30m, and high-altitude trekking are add-ons. Above 4,500m or beyond 30m of scuba is excluded outright.

  • Exclusion · 03

    War, civil unrest, terrorism

Travel-advisory zones at issuance are excluded. Hijack cover applies if the event is the first triggering action of a trip.

  • Exclusion · 04

    Cosmetic & elective treatment

Anything planned in advance (dental work, cosmetic surgery, fertility treatment) is excluded.

§ III · The claim trail

When something does go wrong.

Insurance is only as good as its claim process. Ours has four steps. The hardest one is the first call, and we route it through a 24-hour multilingual desk.

Median settlement

6 days

from documentation submitted to INR credited, on reimbursement claims of under USD 5,000. Cashless settlements close at the hospital.

  1. 01

    Call the 24-hour line

Before paying anything yourself, call the assistance number on your certificate. The operator pre-authorises hospital admission, dispatches an ambulance, or files a delay claim on your behalf.

  2. 02

    Document the loss

Hospital invoice, police FIR, airline delay certificate — whatever applies. The assistance line tells you exactly what to collect at the moment of the incident.

  3. 03

    File on return

Email scanned documents to claims@iforexindia.com within thirty days of the trip end. Cashless claims close at the network hospital; reimbursement claims process within ten working days.

  4. 04

    Settlement

Approved claims are credited to your INR account by NEFT. Disputes route to the IRDAI Ombudsman if we and the underwriter can’t resolve — at no cost to you.

§ IV · Who carries the risk

Three IRDAI-licensed insurers.

iforex is the distributor and your point of contact. The policy itself is written by one of these three Indian insurers, IRDAI-licensed and audited.
